2012 NFL Postseason Pool Rules

Welcome to the 2012 edition of the Fantasy NFL Postseason Pool. Last year's iteration went well and we have decided to bring it back this year. It will also serve as Leg 2 of the 2012 Uber Competition where it carries a 2 weighting. The draft will be held this Thursday at 8:30PM, and will be conducted via Google Spreadsheet. This is the same method we used in this year's regular fantasy football.

The rules are similar to a traditional fantasy football league with several key differences:

1) There are no transactions. Following the draft, your team is your team. There is also no bench.

2) The roster consists of QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex (RB/WR/TE), DEF. We are not drafting Kickers this year. Too random.

3) Scoring (There is no partial point scoring- whole points only)
Passing 1 point per 25 yards, 4 points per touchdown, -2 points per interception
Rushing and Receiving 1 point per 10 yards, 6 points per touchdown. A 2 point bonus is awarded at 300 yards passing and at 100 yards rushing or receiving. -1 point per fumble, -1 point per fumble lost.
Defenses will receive 1 point per Sack, Fumble Forced, and Fumble Recovered. 2 points per Interception, Blocked Kick/Punt or Safety, and 6 points per Touchdown. They will also receive points based upon a sliding scale of Points Allowed (0=10, 1-6=7, 7-13=4, 14-17=1, 22-27=-1, 28-34=-4, 35 or more=-7)

4) There are no head to head matchups, all teams will compete independently and the team with the highest score at the conclusion of the NFL Postseason will be crowned champion.

5) You obviously want to draft players that you think will go deeper into the postseason, as they will score more points. I will be sending out a spreadsheet later with rudimentary depth charts for all eligible teams.

6) The entry fee is $20, with the winner receiving 100% of the prize purse.

7) There is no website for this league. I will be tracking the stats myself, and will email out an update at the conclusion of each game. Any discrepancies can be brought to my attention and fixed easily enough. ESPN's box scores will serve as our official statistics.

8) Please reply to this email if interested and I will send you a link to the Google Spreadsheet so that you may test it out in advance. It is advisable that everyone have a Google ID, but not required. This league is open to all, so if you know of anyone else interested, just check with me first but feel free to share. Looking for about 10 teams, with a maximum of 12.
